What Inspired Skate4Kids?

As Canadian National Team athlete’s, we rely heavily on the support of the communities around us to be able to dedicate our lives to chasing down our goals. It’s both an honour and a privilege to be able to wear the maple leaf on our chests. When that puck drops, or that starting gun fires, we’re not only representing ourselves, but this entire country.

Your endless support has helped us bring home countless Olympic, World Cup, & World Championship medals over the years, so this is our chance to give back.

Why the Alberta Children’s Hospital?

Over 102, 000 kids from not only Alberta, but neighbouring provinces as well, rely on care from the Children’s Hospital on a yearly basis. Nestled into Calgary’s North West, it’s focused on improving and creating new therapeutic options, giving even the sickest of children the best chance for a happy and healthy life

The importance of the role that this medical centre assumes in our community is hard to ignore. There are very few people you'll chat with who haven’t, in some way shape or form, relied on care from the Alberta Children’s at some point in time. We felt like giving back to such a critical piece of our healthcare system was a no-brainer.
